The Committee on Budget recommends that the Parliament adopts as a Basis the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On the State Budget of Ukraine for the Year 2009" (re the increase of the Expenses on Public Treatment Abroad)

The Bill (Reg. No. 5237) was drafted to regulate the critical situation concerning medical treatment of children with oncological diseases abroad.

Thus, according to the Committee members, the State Budget of Ukraine for 2009 envisages UAH 7,9 million for the medical treatment of Ukrainian citizens abroad, the annual requirement being UAH 30 million.

To satisfy the urgent need of providing medical treatment of children with oncological diseases abroad, the Bill increases the amount of budgetary allocations to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for the Budget Program "Medical Treatment of Ukrainian Citizens Abroad" by UAH 22 million.

The Committee members also stated that the Bill was balanced as regards the budget indices.
